A proposal brings a whirlwind of emotions for any couple. It is a time of equal parts nerves and equal parts joy. One of the most important things to consider in a proposal is the exact same thing as in with Real Estate: Location. Location. Location! We have shot proposals in many magical places in the blessed Pacific Northwest and here are our favorites!

discovery park lighthouse

Would you believe if we said Seattle has one of the most whimsical lighthouses you have ever seen? It is located at the very end of Discovery Park Blvd. There are many hiking trails from other parts of the park to the lighthouse and a very small parking area that needs permit. It's a great place to get some peaceful views of the water and watch the ferries go about their business at a distance. The mountains on the far side of Puget sound add their majestic peaks to this already spectacular scene. Just place yourself amidst this and imagine, feels right no?

Smith tower

The Smith Tower is one of the most iconic Seattle spots for celebrating anything special. It boasts an impressive 360 degree view of Seattle from the Pioneer Square end of town. The rich history and architecture will take you back in time. On any given day, you will witness at least one wedding photo or proposal taking place here, come rain or shine. If a classy evening filled with wine and dine is your style, then look no further. Thing to note, the dinner and proposal plans need reservations here which can be made through their website via email only.

rattlesnake lake

The Rattlesnake Lake is a day-use area located near North Bend. The lake is about 35 miles east of Seattle. The lake is a calming blue color, with a mountain full of the evergreen trees symbolic of our PNW. Every season brings a new vibe to this place with the changing foliage and the expanding lake. You can get into the water, climb on tree stumps, walk along the lake, or if you are feeling up for it, climb the mountain itself for some epic shots! It offers a bit of everything here.

gold creek pond

Gold Creek Pond near Snoqualmie Pass is surrounded by a 1 mile loop trail. The trail is open pretty much all year round and can be reached with ease. The pond offers a large open area as you enter the vicinity with a backdrop of mountains and the ever-stunning evergreen trees. This lake is so picturesque that large crowds are a common sight but absolutely worth for a timeless PNW classic proposal.

kerry park

For one of the best views of Seattle head to Kerry Park, a small park located on the south side of Queen Anne Hill. A photo here gives the perfect Seattle postcard, featuring ferries crossing the Elliott Bay, the city skyline with the Space Needle in the forefront and, if the weather Gods are happy, a view of the majestic Mt. Rainier. Imagine all of that packed in your proposal photos.

The park can get crowded in the early evening hours and weekends, so plan your visits either during sunrises or weekday sunsets.
